I file this post under “Pilgrimage for writing” but this pilgrimage has in fact not been made by me. Many thanks to one of my blog readers, J.C., who has been a really nice person to provide me some information on his expedition to a stationery shop in Singapore that sells calligraphy sets. If you’re itching for one, you can go down to: There seem to be no walls in this store. The walls are the shelves. The shelves are the stationery. Look at them piled high and full of tapes, files and folders, boxes and boxes of stuff, and even plushies (okay, this is not very relevant here)! Messy yet organized, it may not look like your spacious and air-conditioned Kinokuniya or Popular Bookstore, but this shop gives a nice-and-old feel. Almost as if it was stuck in time, back during my childhood. I would almost call this place “vintage”. To tell the truth, if I walked past this shop I probably wouldn’t even imagine that fountain pens and calligraphy sets are sold in there.
