Finally, I’m blogging about a really cool day – the day of a really cool fountain pen meet in Singapore! It was held yesterday at the McDonalds’ at King Albert Park. We had about 20 people turning up and it was considered a good number already, considering that the number of -enthusiastic- and -active- fountain pen enthusiasts in our tiny island city is pretty small! There are also many people who really wanted to come but could not make it, due to their job or personal commitments. So imagine if everyone was able to make it, it would have been really spectacular!
Thanks to Danny from Fook Hing (one of our favourite local pen stores), we managed to get sponsored items as “door gifts” from Sailor Japan: bottles of Sailor Jentle inks! It was definitely a great bonus for us. The inks were given out at random but I already heard some of them talking about exchanging samples already.
Those who went had different purposes. Some were there to try out pens which they have always wanted to buy. Some even went to buy pens from one another. A couple of them were newcomers, first time to a pen meet or totally new to fountain pens. We also had people with beautiful handwriting, beautiful vintage pens and beautiful bottles of inks.
I guess a picture speaks a thousand words, so hopefully the following pictures speak for themselves how awesome the pen meet was. Enjoy!

Recently these Smiggle cases have been popular amongst us, I should do a review on them one day! The left one is mine! 😀
Here is my stash which I bought from the meet. A full set of second hand Pilot Parallel Pens (finally!), a Hero 9601 (for an old friend), an oversized Jinhao pen (which I filled with Mont Blanc Midnight Blue ink, combination of which I totally adore now). The Rohrer & Klingner Magenta ink is a token of gratitude from Arthur to me for organizing the previous pen meet. 😀 Thanks, Arthur! I did not feature my Sailor ink here yet, because I have not chosen one for myself yet (letting the others have more choices).

My Chinese handwriting is nothing to be proud of, but I just discovered that writing Chinese with my new Jinhao is a great delight!
Last but not least, to show appreciation that I organized this pen meet, Fook Hing has also given me a BEAUTIFUL Online Sinfonie fountain pen! The perks of being an organizer. 😉
I’m looking forward to many more awesome pen meets in the near future!

I write with my left hand, but can also do the same with my right hand – it just won’t look very pretty.
When is the next one going to be? Can't wait!
Er, maybe…one day 🙂 Guess I don't know enough local pen people yet…
Lol is it? Well then you can organize one in the UK too!
Wow, Maybelline, your pen meet looks a million times better than LWES 2012! We could use an event like that here in the UK…
